How often should I get my HVAC system serviced?
To keep your system working efficiently and properly, HVAC units should be serviced before every heating and cooling season. Air conditioning should be maintained regularly at the beginning of spring, and heating systems at the beginning of fall.
How important is indoor air quality?
Simply put, very important! Without regular cleaning dust, pollutants, allergens, and mildew can circle throughout your home and be breathed in by your family each day. Repeatedly breathing in poor air quality can lead to long term negative health problems. Indoor air quality, without maintenance, can be up to 100 times worse than the air outdoors!
How can I lower my electric bill this summer?
Electric bills can get pricey, but there are ways to lower the cost every season. First, get your air conditioner a check up! Make sure your unit is running properly to avoid higher bills. Keep your thermostat set to 72 and switch fan to auto rather than on. Make sure all windows and doors are completely shut to avoid outdoor drafts. Use your ceiling fans rather than turning up the AC.
When should I replace my furnace?
If your furnace is 10-15 years old, it is likely time for a replacement. Units above this age are likely to decrease energy efficiency, need frequent repairs, and increase overall heating costs.
